World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Item upgrades are a key element of enhancing your character. Upgrades increase item damage and the ability to enchant. They also provide bonuses and enhancements. They are available from the Blacksmith. The upgrade button is located on any item. Every item recycled adds a level to the gauge of upgrade. Weapon When the weapon is upgraded it is granted a base damage bonus, as well as a scaling factor that influences other stats. The weapon can also be upgraded with a number of upgrade components, which provide additional attributes or effects and some even have distinct cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. More hints of them require that the item has an upgrade slot and that it meets certain requirements. When a weapon or armor piece has an upgrade component in it, it is able to be replaced with another, but the prior upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be found by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit Ascended Salvage tool, or high-tier salvaging tool that is attached to an item. A weapon can also be upgraded to include a calibration attribute that improves certain stats, for example Weakspot damage or Crit Rate. This is accomplished through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. Based on the tier of the weapon, this can be done up to four times. When the weapon reaches its maximum level of improvement, it can then be rebuilt to add additional bonuses and effects, or to improve specific stats. A variety of these upgrades can be re-applied at once, and the effects are based on the nature of the weapon. Two Blacksmiths can be upgraded in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the kind of damage a weapon can cause. It is generally recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, then armour defense, and then the other secondary stats as required by your build. Particularly, it is common to see melee druids upgrading their weapon before any other gear, since this can increase DPS. This is particularly true for enchantments, which are extremely effective in boosting the weapon's damage and other stats. Armor Item Upgrades allow players to improve the base stats of certain armor pieces, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also provide additional effects, for example, more damage or cosmetic enhancement. Item upgrades are available through crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors and loot drop, or as quest rewards. The upgrade of armor can be done by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. In the majority of cases an item of armor can be upgraded to the next level once an upgrade is applied. Most armor types are upgradeable, however certain items (such as the starter armour found in Great Sky Island) cannot. The majority of armor upgrades provide a small increase to the item's defense or strength. However, some upgrade components can provide significant enhancements to strength or defense, particularly when upgrading an epic item. Some upgrades provide special abilities which can be activated while wearing armor. These abilities can be beneficial in combat, such as granting a buff to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades also offer passive effects, such as reducing the amount of damage sustained when wearing armor, or giving you a the chance to avoid attacks. Upgrades to armor could require multiple attempts, depending on the type. For example the case of a player wanting to upgrade the strength of a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale The first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with the base defense of 59 and 67. The second attempt would result in a new Dragonscale armor with a base defense between 67-77 and it goes on. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To upgrade their armor players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains found in the game. Each of these locations houses an incredibly powerful fairy who can upgrade a piece of armor for the player. Contrary to what many believe armor isn't useless in The Division 2. Certain armors give a substantial boost in the reduction of the damage caused by poison spells, curses, magic or fire. This makes them valuable for certain types of builds. There are other ways to increase the strength of armor apart from upgrading the armor, like using the engineer attribute to increase armor penetration or the challenger to reduce total weight. Potion A potion can be upgraded by placing it in a brewing stand to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new tier of potion effect, and can be repeated for more potency levels. The potion also has a custom color code that the player can pick using /give and which affects area-of-effect clouds and arrows created by the potions. In Bedrock Edition the custom potion color also affects the particle effects of the potions. The water bottle, the mundane thick and awkward potions now have a new texture for brewing. In the Creative Inventory potion healing and weakness are now available. The addition of lingering potions that can be prepared using splash potions or Dragon breath. Also added is a potent potion that has the status effect Mining Fatigue. Problems related to this update are tracked on the Bug Tracker. Trinket A trinket is a small inexpensive piece of jewelry. This can be a necklace, ring or even a tiny flag that is used to identify a vessel's yard that is lateen. It can also be a gilded trinket that is attached to the mast of a boat. This macabre trinket seems to be influencing the denizens of this maze and making them more popular. This trinket, at present, makes all types of mimics more common and gives each floor a Y% chance that it contains an ebony replica. Upgrades to this trinket will cost an amount of energy. The enchanted Scepter's magic appears to affect the dungeon, increasing its likelihood of generating water and grass. At its current level this trinket can make X% of floors become filled with grass or water, but doesn't affect enchantments or glyphs, cursed weapons or armor, or other items created to help solve hazard rooms. The item, which appears like a eyes of a nymph, seems to affect your vision in a manner that goes beyond merely reducing your field-of-view. At the moment, this trinket boosts the overall health of the drinkers of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X% and gives you vision on enemies within the Y tiles. This does not stack with Heightened Senses. Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after you have completed the Mastery Cave. You will find them when you defeat Monsters and in chests and crates. They can't be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon. Place the trinket in the Anvil whenever it is required to be upgraded. This will have an effect on the trinket which is random that will either enhance or intensify its effects. You can reforge the Trinket as often as you'd like however it will always be able to produce a new effect. You can also improve your Trinkets by putting them in a magical catalyst at the Alchemy Station. This will cost 6 energy, however it will increase the power of the trinket by a small amount.
